Need: Carboard cereal boxes/ takeout boxes/other materials to cut for windmill blades!
_________________________________________________________________________________
Monday/Tuesday:
- Retest windmills- See how many volts you can produce using: different blade lengths/shapes/materials
- Model Windmill Experiment # 2 (We will use this paper several times)
Wednesday:
- Requiz-- name 5 parts of the scientific method and explain each & calculate force.
- Learn how a generator works =)

Monday (Lokahi)/ Tuesday (Pono):
- Partnership with MEDB in the tech park building Windmills: Model Windmill Experiment (Due next day!)
- You and your partner will have the option of creating a windmill with or without gears.
- Pictures to help you build Kidwind Windmill Kit Set-up (print in color if you can before class-- this will help your team A LOT!)
Wednesday:
- Assessment on: explaining at least 3 steps of the scientific method, and given a mass, how to calculate the Force of an object being pulled down by gravity using Newtons first law: Force = Mass * acceleration.
- With a group, plan an experiments to test on the windmills using: Model Windmill Experiment
Needed: Cardboard from cereal boxes!!! (You can design really cool windmill blades with these and test them!!!!)

- Homework: Spend 45 minutes on Khan Academy over the weekend on any section. Have parent sign a sheet that you write saying: "I spent 45 minutes on Khan Academy and mastered the section(s) called: ________________ " (due Monday!)
Monday or Tuesday (Due the next day):
- Students will use their ideas from last week to: Design Your Own Pinwheel Experiment
- Students will practice using the formulas: Force=mass * acceleration and Work = distance * time
- Next week we will work with real windmill models (we are partnering with MEDB and will be traveling to the tech park!)
Wednesday: no science, this is our flex day (Math, Garden, Pool, Tech, Elective)
